Deane Computer Solutions are an established it solutions provider based in Dorchester offering a wide range of specialist IT support services to local government, National Health Service, businesses and individuals. Our brief was to develop their on-line retail business allowing them to showcase their products and services to a wider customer base.

Following an initial fact find meeting to establish their needs we decided that the implementation of a third party shopping cart would be the most cost effective solution. CubeCart was chosen for its performance and stability, being developed using the PHP platform the added benefit of widely available modifications from the on-line community was also an advantage.

The website and shopping cart are the initial phases of a tiered approach. The first stage is now complete with the launch. Stage two is the on-line marketing campaign and stage three will be to develop a bespoke e-tail application incorporating a PC builder.

The PC Builder will allow customers to select systems and then display additional options that are applicable or compatible with their initial selection. The logic is currently being developed and tested for this, together with the MySQL database powering the site.

A full ticketed support area is now incorporated with a comprehensive automated document download facility addressing common support issues to be implemented soon, therefore speeding up the process for the customer.
